Laurel Jennings is a family medicine physician at Madison Regional Health System, the hospital and clinic serving Madison and the rural area around it. She grew up in Miller, South Dakota and came here after medical school to practice family medicine with obstetrics, and she still cares for whole families and watches generations grow up. Menopause care sits alongside her obstetrics, pediatric and preventive work rather than being a separate clinic. She became a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner in 2026 after seeing how much unproven menopause advice circulates on social media, and she was of perimenopausal age herself at the time. Her stance is to talk through what is and is not FDA approved or safe for a particular woman instead of reaching for whatever is popular, and she points out that she gets no financial benefit from the treatments she recommends. The clinic does some gynecologic procedures in house, including endometrial biopsy, colposcopy and IUD placement, and bigger gynecologic surgery goes to a visiting OB/GYN.
