About Menopause Northwest

Christina Cameli runs a small solo practice from inside the ila Health offices in southeast Portland, and she came to menopause care from nurse-midwifery. Her site has a page answering the question of why a midwife sees people who are not pregnant. Visits are long, patients book their own appointments, and all between-visit messaging goes through the patient portal, where a reply can take up to five business days. She prescribes hormone therapy when it fits and keeps non-hormonal options for people who cannot or would rather not use hormones. She says plainly that she will not chase hormone levels, does not prescribe weight-loss medication, and recommends against hormone pellets, which she has written about at length. She asks patients to keep their own primary care provider for routine bloodwork and anything outside menopause, she wants at least one in-person visit a year, and new patients join a waitlist she calls long.
