Peak Aesthetics and Wellness is a small downtown San Angelo practice where Dr. Brantly is the only physician and the rest of the staff are aestheticians, a medical assistant and a coordinator. She came to hormone care from urology, so alongside menopause she handles recurrent urinary infections, incontinence and painful intercourse. A first hormone visit runs about 40 minutes and covers your history, symptoms and a plan, and labs can be drawn in the office. She prescribes bioidentical hormones as pills, patches, gels, creams or pellets, and she writes plainly about keeping doses in a normal physiologic range rather than pushing them high. She makes a point of being a physician rather than a nurse practitioner working from a standard protocol, and says she will not give a big dose and a follow-up six months later. The other half of the practice is medical aesthetics, so the same visit can take in skin, hair and injectables.
