818GYN is a one doctor gynecology practice in Woodland Hills, started by the father of Dr. Taras in 1968 and still in the same place. Obstetrics stopped in 2006 so the focus could move to menopausal hormone management and minimally invasive surgery, and the practice no longer delivers babies. The line on hormones is that one pill does not fit all, so traditional hormone replacement, bioidentical hormones through compounding pharmacy partners and pellets are all on offer. New patients fill in registration forms online, and anyone coming in only for pellets has a separate form to complete. Visits are charged by how long they take, whether in the office or by video or email, and the office says an appointment can run five minutes or fifty five. Dr. Taras also ran a large breast and ovarian cancer fundraising team for years and once wrapped a pink Tesla so donors could sign it.
