Jill McEachern runs Dahlia Midlife Health as a solo practice in Guilford and also sees women across Connecticut by telehealth. The practice works only on perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause, and she founded it after seeing women dismissed or left on hormone therapy that was not working. Care starts with a long gynecologic and medical history focused on cycles and symptoms, and she sends patients to Quest for labs when the plan calls for it. She prescribes hormone therapy as patches, gels, sprays, pills, vaginal rings and vaginal estradiol, and will consider compounded bioidentical hormones when she judges it appropriate. For women who cannot or do not want to use hormones she offers fezolinetant, paroxetine, low dose SSRIs and SNRIs, gabapentin and oxybutynin. She also treats genitourinary syndrome of menopause and low libido, offers testosterone support, and will help a patient move off hormone pellets onto menopause hormone therapy because she considers pellets hard to titrate.
